Bernardo Grossenbacher

was born in 1942 in Bern, Switzerland.
At 17, he played at the international Jazz-Festival Zurich as a pianist.
Dealing with "modern" jazz had a lasting effect. Almost all of his works are "jazzy" (chords and rhythm).
At the Conservatory of Biel-Bienne he graduated with honors from Hermann Engel the teaching diploma for organ and theory with distinction.
Concert studies for French organ literature with Philippe Laubscher. Various organist positions in Protestant and Catholic churches. Concert in CH, F and I (for example on the 5-manual organ of Messina Cathedral).
Four years additional studies in conducting with Jost Meier, Helmuth Rilling and Ewald Körner; Study of microtonal music at the NEC (New England Conservatory), Boston under Joseph G.Maneri;
Shorter studies with Ruth Pache and Rosmarie Meister (vocals), Béla Szedlàk (contrabass), H.Urabl and Runo Eriksson (percussion, NEC (Third Stream).

Resumption as a 73-year-old musician: playing trumpet, albeit in the form of a flugelhorn. Later, the alphorn got added. He invented a technique with which at least 10 additional notes can be played on the alphorn.
